Shut Them Down - The G8, Gleneagles 2005 and the Movement of Movements'
For those of you who don't already know, 'Shut Them Down!' (www.shutthemdown.org) contains action stories from the frontlines of resistance to the last year's G8 Summit, along with detailed accounts of how various aspects of the mobilisation were organised. The book's relevance, we believe, however, extends far beyond the specific event from which it arose and addresses some of the issues and problematics central to the global anti-capitalist 'movement of movements' of today.

Bringing together a collection of 34 texts, including an editors introduction, 'Shut Them Down!' contains chapters written both by those directly involved with the Gleneagles events, along with contributions from a number of more established scholars, commentators and analysts, consciously attempting to breakdown any notions of an 'inside' and 'outside' to the movement.

The book includes contributions from: George Caffentzis (on
neoliberalism's 'plan B'); John Holloway (on time, rupture and revolution); Werner Bonefeld (on movement and uncertainly); Massimo De Angelis and Dagmar Diesner (on notions of time and new dimensions); Rodrigo Nunes (on the nature of openness and 'horizontality'); Ben Trott (on the limitations of the 'activist identity'). Other contributors include Counter-Spin Collective, The Free Association,
The Ginger, Colonel Klepto and Major Up Evil, Starhawk and Simon Tormey.
